ASHURA

Nasserallah's new promise: more and more black days, and more separation between the young Lebanese. It is only symbolic that Lebanon went through the most hard and bloody week in decades, a few days prior to the Shiite sacred day.I am sure that many Shii Lebanese brothers do not share Nasserallah's hope for the sacrifice of Lebanon on the Iranian shrine.

  • Hi Shirin,
I have to say one thing. As I took a look through your blog quickly, I see allot of hate and resentment towards one party in Lebanon. Primarily. I wish people can respect eachother and not attack and belittle eachother. This is the problem in the middle east. Mish bes bi lebanon. And as long as we are like this, we will always be in the shit hole.

If these are your drawings, I gotta admit that you are a creative and tallented artist. I hope that I see you draw things that are far from disrespect & hatred towards anyone.

All the best & I hope you take my comment as constructive criticism :)

  • ... Wake up Girl ... These drawing reflect hatred toward a Lebanese party ... Don't be braiwashed !!!Don't let yourself be Braiwashed by any political leader .. be a clever receiver ... You must respect Hezbollah even if they are different from you !

  • hello,

i came to your blog because you posted a very simplistic comment on mine. and it seems that things are not simplistic, they're discriminatory against an entire people.

just a quick fact for this post. Ashura is an age old tradition that has been developed in certain places way before anything called "iran" existed. Plus, Ashura's practice has nothing to do with Hizbullah. Hizbullah may actually try to limit the violent dimension of this ritual in many instances.

If you want more detail to understand all these subtleties I would be glad to explain further.

  • Shirin,

Keep the good job; if "These drawing reflect hatred toward a Lebanese party", you're only returning them the favour. How can one "respect" a party that pledges allegiance to a foreign ruler?

  • Je7a t es partout et tu portes bien ton nom.
"foreign ruler" ya shrik..! I am laughing. as if in Lebanon HEzb was the only party pledging alliance to a foreign country..
    Welcome to Lebanon..

  • Don't expect respect from anybody when you loose your respect to others and to yourself.
We'll not use ugly words or destroyful images like yours that is based on hatred and lies because Hussein, the core of Ashura, which you are totally ignorant of, taught us forgiveness.
As he suffered from tyranness and submitted his soul to God, we shall cry him today to stay laughing forever while you'll cry forever for your ignorance...
